Simple Ways to Become a Healthier Man

A healthy man is often a happy man. For that reason, men of all ages are constantly looking for ways to make them a little healthier. It does not take a complete change of lifestyle or a comprehensive makeover. There are simple ways to become a healthier man and here’s a helpful list you can follow.
Establish a better diet. Water helps immensely. You should try to drink around eight glasses of water a day, with each glass being at least eight ounces. It not only energizes you but it helps avoid sluggishness caused by dehydration. drinking water also helps you avoid headaches. Add some fruits and vegetables to your diet as well. Try eating 5-9 servings per day. Also try to stay away from the junk food. You can indulge every now and then, but avoiding fatty foods will do wonders in many ways. And don’t skip breakfast. Men who eat a regular breakfast have been proven to have a better chance of keeping their weight down.
Sleep more. Do you know why you crave caffeine only a few minutes after you wake up? Because you are not getting enough sleep. Men generally require 8-10 hours of sleep a night to maintain good health. Most men fail to meet that quota,. But if you can squeeze in an extra couple of hours of sleep, you won’t need a constant jolt of caffeine to get you through the day. You will be an all-around healthier man.
Keep a cool head. How many times a day do you overreact? The more times you do, the more stress you add to your life. Try to take things in stride and not erupt into fits of madness or frustration. It will wear on your heart and your mood. Keeping a cool head and looking on the bright side is a much healthier way to live.
Exercise, even in small doses. You don’t have to run a mile or bench press a lot of weight. But try to do some kind of exercise each day. You could take a walk, go for a bike ride or do push-ups and sit-ups while you watch TV at night. Staying active, even a little, can go a long way.
Stretch out. It doesn’t take long to do and it can be done in the comfort of your own home. Take five minutes to stretch in the morning and five minutes to stretch at night. You will be amazed at how much more flexible you become in just a short period of time.
Show off that grin. Science has actually proven that laughter is healthy for you. Smiling can take things even one step farther. Smiling has been proven to reduce stress, boost your immune system and lower blood pressure. A smile also releases endorphins, which serve as kind of a natural drug and makes us feel better.
Have some fun. Too many men’s lives are filled with work, work, work. Stop worrying about work and take some time for yourself. Go out and do something you love. Go to a ball game, meet up with friends or just take a day off and do nothing. It is important to stay in touch with you. And that doesn’t refer to the you that has to go to work 40 hours a week.
Turn off the television. There are plenty of alternatives to sitting in front of a television screen. Get up off the couch and go do something. There are so many more productive things you can do. Go visit some family, cook a four-course meal or take a trip down to the park. Get out and be a more active instead of sitting on your couch and watching other people be active inside an electronic box.
