How to Reboot Your Confidence & Attractiveness
by James Greenier
There is nothing you can buy in a store that will boost your self confidence. However, there are plenty of ways you can do this yourself. Here are ten helpful tips on how to boost your self confidence.
Go out and be active. It never hurts to look good. But there are more benefits that come from working out than just looking good. The more active you are, the better your self image will become. And if you like how you look, it will enable you to have more confidence in everything you do.
Grab that to-do list. Have you ever created a to-do list with things you want to get done over a course of a day? There is always a feeling of satisfaction at the end of the day when you are able to cross of each of those things. Make yourself a to-do list of some things you have been putting off for a while. Then, go out and do them. At the end of the day, your sense of accomplishment will help your self confidence.
Be a groomed man. A mood can change completely with a shower, shave and fresh haircut. You will be refreshed and surprised at how much better it can make you feel. Walking around with a fresh look will make you stride more confidently.
Replace complaints with answers. Chances are that you probably have your share of complaints over the course of a day. Everyone does. The next time you find yourself complaining about something, stop yourself. Then, think of a way to silence that complaint with some sort of action. If you find yourself short on time and complain ‘there are not enough hours in a day,’ do something about it. Portion out your time so that you can make the best use of it. That could mean making a schedule of all the things you need to do in a day. Whatever your complaint, find an answer and then go out and do something that will silence that complaint.
Alter your routine. This does not require a drastic change. Try to add a little twist to your daily routine. It could be something as simple as taking a daily walk, going to bed a little earlier or keeping a daily journal. Staying with it every day will provide you with a small sense of accomplishment. That kind of discipline may seem minor but it will go a long way toward make you feel good about yourself.
Positive thoughts. Negative thoughts tend to weigh people down and put them in a sour mood. But positive thoughts enable people to go through a day with an upbeat attitude. Not only do positive thoughts make for a more enjoyable day, they draw people to you. Positive thoughts lead to a more positive self-image. The more positive you think, the more positive your life will become. Try not to think negatively in your daily life. Try to see the good in every person and situation and the result will be a better you.
Employ a can-do attitude. Can is a much more productive word than can’t. Instead of automatically thinking of the reasons why you can’t do something, stop and replace them with the reasons you can. When faced with a new task or challenge, approach with the attitude that you can and will do it. That kind of approach will bring more confidence to you in every area of your life.
Turn that frown upside down. It may seem a little sappy, but smiling really helps. Smiles are also contagious. Smiles make everyone feel better about themselves. Instead of walking around wearing a frown, change it up and model a smile. You and everyone around you will feel a little bit better.
Donate your time. There are plenty of worthy causes that need volunteers. Helping others is not just a good thing to do, but it will also have a positive effect on you. Go down to one of your local charities or organizations and give a few hours a week. It will make you feel good about yourself. Replacing idle time in front of a TV or computer by volunteering will be time well spent.
Prepare yourself. With preparation comes confidence. If you have a test, study. If you have a work assignment, immerse yourself into it. Your life is an ongoing assignment, one that you can prepare for in so many ways. Whatever you have on your future agenda, prepare for it. That way when the time comes, you will walk into each endeavor with complete confidence.
